Interests: Writing is one of my passions. Beside my work as a teacher, I work as a writer for the publishing house Tiny Readers, where I have the chance to write wonderful stories in Spanish that help kids to learn languages. Furthermore, I love diving, living in Thailand allowed me to discover the greatness and colorful coral reefs located at the Andaman Sea. I'm also a foodie who enjoys traveling the world trying the best street food. Last but not least, documentary photography is other of me great passions, I had the chance to make exhibitions in different countries showing the richness and diversity found during my travels

What is it like to have a lesson with me?
What Is It Like to Work with Francisco?
What curriculum do you follow?
I follow the recommendations given by the IC (Instituto Cervantes) which is the most important institution regarding Spanish teaching. As a teacher, I adapt all these recommendations in order to meet the specific needs of my students.
How do you plan lessons?
All my lessons will be planned keeping into consideration the attention span of the students in order to make them dynamic and vibrant. I love to use flipped lessons, which means that before each lesson you will have access to the content, for example, travel vocabulary, and to some interactive activities. In this way, you will have some knowledge about the topic before starting the lesson. According to my experience, flipped lessons optimize the one-to-one time between teachers and students and speeds up the acquisition of a new language.
How do you measure progress?
If you are learning Spanish in order to get a DELE certification, your progress will be evaluated by doing activities and exams similar to the official ones provided by the Instituto Cervantes. Otherwise, your progress will be measured lesson by lesson. As a teacher I will take care of letting you know in every moment which are your strengths and weaknesses, providing you with the right tools to reach your personal goals. If we talk about kids or teenagers, I love to use gamification tools such as Class Dojo or Classcraft to measure their progress and share their achievements with their parents.
What tools/materials do you use?
The best materials are the ones that are created and designed keeping in mind the needs, interests, and goals of your students. In my opinion, the materials need to be created in order to cover both a pedagogical and an engaging purpose. I choose to create my own materials in order to reach these goals. If you are a child, probably you like cartoons, so why not create materials based on your favorite characters? Or maybe, if you are a foodie who loves to travel and discover new foods/dishes, wouldn’t you like to learn Spanish by cooking some delicious recipes? Music, cinema or series addicts will for sure enjoy having materials related to these topics, or perhaps you would like to get a DELE certification, and then you are going to need materials focused on the official exams. The same materials can’t be used to teach different students, that’s the reason why I will use my knowledge to create the perfect material for you using powerful tools such as Canva, Genially, Decktoys, Kahoot etc…
How can you help students achieve their long-term goals?
The best way to retain students is to help them understand and make them aware of their progress in the meta language. Adapting the lessons to their needs and specific characteristics will engage them and develop their excitement and commitment to learning a new language.
