What Are My Lessons Like?

What curriculum do you follow?

– I follow a curriculum based on three levels: Basic, Intermediate and Advance, in which there are general and vocabulary lessons with content organized in a logical sequence to make it easy for the students to master each level.

– Also, grammar lessons that contain the most basic grammar rules in Spanish that students need to know to understand the different parts of sentences, how to conjugate verbs in Spanish properly and a lot of other things.

– Each lesson includes explanations, pictures, audio examples and even quizzes, in which I focus on developing the students’ writing, reading, speaking and listening skills.

How do you plan lessons?

I plan lessons according to the curriculum and the student’s needs. For this, I use Microsoft Word and PowerPoint software, where I use examples, images and stimulating activities so that students can have better learning.

How do you measure progress?

I use special tasks for lessons that are dedicated to measuring the progress of the students. These tasks cover reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills. These tasks are performed every certain number of lessons or at the student’s request, to monitor learning progress.

What materials/tools do you use?

I use encouraging online activities through different resources on websites, YouTube videos, Google drive files and PowerPoint presentations.

How can you help students with their long-term goals?

At the beginning of the course, we define with the students the goals for the following areas: reading, writing, speaking and listening. Then, we design and follow a plan to focus on the short-term objectives on the way to their long-term goal. Likewise, we go through each of the goals and if necessary, we make adjustments to each of them.
