What curriculum do you follow?
My curriculum will be based on the student’s expectations and needs. I impart synchronous and asynchronous lessons, which means they will have homework such as written tasks, completing exercises, cloze tasks, and reading tasks. During the synchronous lesson I will explain certain content, I always work with video and audio support (depending on the class). I prepare my own PPT presentations based on the topics we will see, based on time & the number of classes. I have my syllabus made to organize the learning of every student through the time he/she has booked classes with me.
For example, when I worked at a school teaching elementary and kindergarten levels for both Spanish and English, I was in charge of creating a year-round curriculum for every single grade. So, you’re in good hands!
How do you plan lessons?
I will tailor my classes based on the students’ needs. For example: for a young learner we will have songs, puppets, short videos, and stories. We will work more on vocabulary. For adults, I try to emphasize grammar and fluency, and correct pronunciation. I plan my lessons individually and by topics, but modify them when needed. Usually, I work with opening and closing routines, the main topic delivery, role-play, videos, & songs.
How do you measure progress?
I like mentioning topics we have seen before through my classes to check the students’ knowledge. I am not a fan of tests; I prefer homework and interactive activities without having the pressure of studying. But of course, if it is for a school, we have mock exams and tests. I have a daily learning log and a curriculum log.
What materials/tools do you use?
So many. I work with ESL, Cambridge, puzzles online, YouTube, LMS, Slack, several online platforms: I master Skype, Zoom, and currently working on LearnCube. I’m subscribed to forums for tools for teachers and working on my own course I will be selling soon. I also love creating workshops.
How can you help students with their long-term goals?
I always consider the student’s language proficiency and their needs. My motto is to try to teach as much as I can in the shortest time. For private students, there is nothing more frustrating than wasting time. That is why I have been an option many times rather than an Institute because with me they can achieve a goal in a year that there they would have achieved it in three years. I do adjust myself to schools and would not override their criteria, but when it comes to me, I love expressing all skills and want my students to be their best version.

What happens when you book a lesson?
You select a date and time that works for you on the tutor’s individual calendars on their profile page. You can do one of the following:
- Book a FREE 20-minute Discovery Call (Chat about your goals & meet your tutor before booking!).
- Book a 30-minute class – price varies per tutor.
- Book a paid 1-hour class – price varies per tutor.
How long are the lessons?
Our lessons are 30 or 60 minutes, but you can book for a longer time if you desire. Or book lessons in bulk for a discounted price once you find a tutor you’re comfortable with. The discounts are on each tutor’s page.
What are you going to learn in each lesson?
The lesson plan is designed according to your needs. Do you need to learn more past or future tense? Help with your pronunciation? Are you looking to become more fluent and confident in your words? All is possible with our tutors, some of whom have been teaching Spanish for over 20 years.
