What curriculum do you follow?
I created a curriculum based on the standard program proposed by Instituto Cervantes.
During my class, we will focus on your real need to improve in a short time. Using a rich variety of activities immersing you in practicing Spanish. I will make sure that everything you found difficult before will become surprisingly easy.
The points we concentrate on are:
1. Communicative approach.
- Constant work in all 4 linguistic areas (oral, speaking, listening, reading, and writing). The classes are focused on learning through real practice. In this part, an important approach is to focus on useful vocabulary and pronunciation.
2. Focus on the most useful grammar points that you need to communicate. The explanations are made in a very clear and concise way. To practice grammar, I will share with you all the useful resources online to practice Spanish, and we will revise your questions during the classes.
3. All the proposed activities will focus on real-life situations as valuable learning tools in which you will always play an active role.
4. Cultural reference: As well as learning the language, you will also learn important facts about Colombian culture and history. For this part. I organize some classes in various cool and interesting places in Medellin and Jardín.
5. Practice gives you confidence when you are speaking. We will work on self-confidence and practice in real-life situations in Colombia.
How do you plan lessons?
I follow the standard program propose for students of Spanish as a foreign language. I plan the lesson depending on the student’s needs. We concentrate on what he/she has difficulty with.
How do you measure progress?
The most important for me is that students feel they are progressing at their rhythm. For some specific grammar points, we do a short test or games to evaluate the comprehension of the topic.
What materials/tools do you use?
I use different resources online that I’ve created myself (pdf, podcast, videos) and I have access to a library of online books that we use online.
I also propose a book you can get online so you can work at home on some grammar exercises.
How can you help students with their long-term goals?
I easily get empathy with students of all ages. I take my time to understand the student, their lifestyle, and interest in learning the language.

What happens when you book a lesson?
You select a date and time that works for you on the tutor’s individual calendars on their profile page. You can do one of the following:
- Book a FREE 20-minute Discovery Call (Chat about your goals & meet your tutor before booking!).
- Book a 30-minute class – price varies per tutor.
- Book a paid 1-hour class – price varies per tutor.
How long are the lessons?
Our lessons are 30 or 60 minutes, but you can book for a longer time if you desire. Or book lessons in bulk for a discounted price once you find a tutor you’re comfortable with. The discounts are on each tutor’s page.
What are you going to learn in each lesson?
The lesson plan is designed according to your needs. Do you need to learn more past or future tense? Help with your pronunciation? Are you looking to become more fluent and confident in your words? All is possible with our tutors, some of whom have been teaching Spanish for over 20 years.
