What curriculum do you follow?
I follow the European Common Frame curriculum starting from the beginner level where the student needs to learn the basic communicative functions like greet, go to a restaurant until the advance level, where the student would be able to express hypothetical ideas. Also, I handle a blended curriculum focus on cultural and working needs, where I classify the students based on their level and I start to help them to improve their communicative and grammatical skills to improve their performance in the job.
How do you plan lessons?
Based on the level of each one of my students, I prepare a grammar topic, and after I contextualize the topic on the student’s context. I mean, I try to make that the student use the grammatical structure studied in class in his or her daily life through readings, short or long conversation exercises, listening activities taken from different contexts and I encourage him or her to express his or her opinions. All focused on specific grammatical topics.
In addition, I attempt to prepare vocabulary activities to reinforce the students´ reading and writing skills.
How do you measure progress?
According to the number of hours of the student, I made two quizzes where I evaluated his or her advanced in all her skills. Also, I encourage to my students to prepare two speaking projects based on topic of their own interests where I checked his or her fluency and at the end of his presentation I give them feedback with some details to improve.
What tools/materials do you use?
I use different texts books like ‘Realidades’, ‘Avancemos’, ‘Maravillas del Español’, ‘Mundo 21’ also special workshops about art, culture, science, and history, focus on improved the students´ skills. In addition, I can prepare special materials based on particular topics that the students let me know in advance with the purpose of helping them in their working life.
How can you help students achieve their long-term goals?
Firstly, by a permanent evaluation through quizzes, speaking presentations, corrections in their pronunciation, use of connectors and general grammatical and communicative skills. Also, I try to show them some basic vocabulary differences between Latin America and Spain, and I encourage them to talk and give me ideas about their own culture to become the lessons a more interactive experience.

What happens when you book a lesson?
You select a date and time that works for you on the tutor’s individual calendars on their profile page. You can do one of the following:
- Book a FREE 20-minute Discovery Call (Chat about your goals & meet your tutor before booking!).
- Book a 30-minute class – price varies per tutor.
- Book a paid 1-hour class – price varies per tutor.
How long are the lessons?
Our lessons are 30 or 60 minutes, but you can book for a longer time if you desire. Or book lessons in bulk for a discounted price once you find a tutor you’re comfortable with. The discounts are on each tutor’s page.
What are you going to learn in each lesson?
The lesson plan is designed according to your needs. Do you need to learn more past or future tense? Help with your pronunciation? Are you looking to become more fluent and confident in your words? All is possible with our tutors, some of whom have been teaching Spanish for over 20 years.
