Kids do best with 30-minute lessons, so we show each tutor’s 30-minute English price first. Many tutors also offer 10 and 20-lesson packages that save 5% and 10%. Want your child to learn Spanish instead? See our Spanish tutors for kids.

Two kids, or a friend who wants to join?

3 of these tutors teach siblings and friends together in one lesson. Two kids learning together pay the tutor’s normal price plus 75%, and a third child adds another 50%, so each child pays less than a private lesson.

English lessons that keep kids engaged

Kids learn a language by using it. Tutors plan each lesson around your child’s age, level and interests, and change activities often so attention never drifts.

Ages 4 to 6Sounds, songs and play

Songs, games, colors, numbers and animals. Young children copy the sounds of English easily and start answering in short phrases.

Ages 7 to 9Reading and real sentences

Phonics, picture stories and role play turn single words into sentences about family, school, food and friends.

Ages 10 to 11Conversation and school English

Longer chats about their own interests, plus reading, writing and the vocabulary their school class is covering.

Why families book an English tutor

“We just moved to the US and school is all in English.”

A tutor who also speaks Spanish helps your child catch up fast, without feeling lost in every lesson.

“My child understands English but won’t speak it.”

Short, friendly lessons with lots of talking build the confidence to answer in English.

“I want my child to grow up bilingual.”

Regular lessons from an early age make English feel as natural as Spanish.

“English class at school is getting harder.”

Tutors can follow your child’s book, homework and test dates, so each lesson backs up the class.

Questions parents ask about English tutors for kids

Do the tutors speak Spanish too?

Yes. Every tutor on this page speaks Spanish and English, so they can explain a new word or rule in Spanish when your child needs it, then go back to English.

My child doesn’t speak any English. Is that OK?

Yes. Tutors start from your child’s level, including complete beginners, and use pictures, gestures and games so your child understands.

How long is a lesson?

30 minutes. That’s the right length for children up to 11: long enough to learn something new, short enough to stay focused. From about age 12, students usually move to 1-hour lessons.

How many lessons a week does my child need?

Two or three short lessons a week usually work better than one long one, because kids remember more when they hear English often.

Can a tutor help with school English and homework?

Yes. Share your child’s book, worksheets or test dates with the tutor, and they will build lessons around them.

Can siblings share a lesson?

Yes. Some tutors teach siblings and friends together. Two kids pay the tutor’s normal price plus 75% for the shared lesson, and a third child adds another 50%. Pick “Sibling lessons” above to see each tutor’s shared price.

My child has ADHD, autism or dyslexia. Can you help?

Yes. Neurodivergent-friendly tutors adapt the pace, structure and activities to how your child learns.

What does my child need for online lessons?

A computer or tablet with a camera and microphone, a quiet spot, and headphones if the house is busy. Lessons run in the browser, with nothing to install.
